The death of Frederick “Fred” Alexis Estey husband of Kathryn (Kay) (Tozer) Estey of Sunny Corner, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 87. Born in Sevogle, Fred was the son of the late Herbert and Lucy (Doucet) Estey.
Fred was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Whalen Construction before retirement and was a member of the Islandview Seniors, Sunny Corner
Besides his wife Kay, Fred is survived by five daughters: Karen Savoie of Williamstown, NB, Brenda Somers of Strathadam, NB, Heather Mullin (Leonard) of Cassilis, NB, Kim Muzzerall (Derrick) of Williamstown, NB and Valerie Kelly (Donald) of Killarney, NB; three sons: Robbie (Sherry-Lynn ) of Greenwood, NS, Terry (Rose) of Williamstown, NB and Jeff (Shelley) of Burlington, ON; one sister: Claire Harris of Warwick, NB; sixteen grandchildren: Bob, Jocelyn, Melissa, Adam, Stuart, Nick, Chris, Katie, Holly, Wayne, Ashley, Patrick, Sarah, Molly, Sean & Jenna; fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Maggie.
Fred is predeceased by one daughter: Deborah Hubbard; one great grandson: Samuel; seven sisters: Edna, Bernice, Dallen, Ruth, Belle, Sarah and Joanne; five brothers: George, Lawrence, Edwin, Gerald and Cletus.
Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, Sunny Corner on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, NB on Tuesday @ 11 AM with Father Dan Melanson officiating.
Burial will take place in St. James Roman Catholic Church Cemtery later in the spring.
In Fred’s memory a donation may be made to the NB Extra Mural Program or St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund.
