Mrs. Phyllis Elspith Mary Margaret MacKenzie wife of the late Andrew MacKenzie of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, formerly of O’Keefe Road, Miramichi, passed away Sunday September 10, 2017 at Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 98.
Born in Chatham NB, she was the daughter of the late William Wallace Irving and Rubina Marion (Currie) Irving. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Church, Millbank NB, member of church choir from 12 years old to 17 yearsold, member of C.G.I.T., member of young adult group, member of Ladies Aid- UCW, member of Orange Lodge and also the Tea Cup Card Club 1953-2010.
She is survived by two daughters; Elizabeth Ann Hachey (Charlie) of St. Margaret’ NB, Mary Lou Russell (Armond) of Merritt BC, four sons; David MacKenzie(Theresa) of Derby Jct., George MacKenzie(Leslie) of Salmon Arm BC, Charles MacKenzie of Miramichi, Brian MacKenzie of Saskatchewan, one sister; Bridget Creighton of Miramichi, one daughter in law Kelsey MacKenzie, grandchildren; Claudette, Carole, Allison, Tracey, Andrea, Troy, Maggie, Michelle, Kelly, Andy, Kyle and Justin, great grandchildren; Jonathan, Robert, Carl, Crystal, Justin, Tyler, Jamie, Cadrin, Carrena, William, Aidan, Lauren, Scottie, Shae and Kaydan, great great grandchildren; Haley, Lucas and Farrah.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sons; Jack and Leslie, one daughter Margaret Ellen, brothers; William, Jack, Joe and Andrew, sisters; Jean Russell, Quennie Patterson, Dorothy Gray, Rubina Gray and Katherine Campbell.
Mrs. Phyllis Elspith Mary Margaret MacKenzie is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday September 14, at 2 p.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gerald Blaquiere officiating. Burial will follow in Moorefield Cemetery.
