It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother.
Lourdes Bernadette (Ross) Gallivan, widow of Thomas “Tommy” Gallivan of Derby Junction, NB, occurred at her residence on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the age of 83. Born in Newcastle, NB, Lourdes was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Monahan) Ross.
Lourdes is survived by three daughters: Stephanie Gallivan Landry (Bernard), Anne Kingston (Eric), Mary Mahoney (Brett); three sons: Greg (Loretta), Terry and Frank (Natalie) all of Miramichi, NB; one sister: Marie Donovan of Miramichi, NB; twelve grandchildren: Kirk, Christopher, Tiffany, James, Keith, Peter, Christa, Candice, Robert, Bryan, Erika and Jessie; nine great grandchildren: Zachary, Katelynn, Liyla, Hudson, Preston, Thomas, Johanna, Jack and Mayci; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Lourdes is predeceased by one sister: Joan Ludlum and one grandson: Jeffrey.
Visitation was held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Eel Ground, NB on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1 PM with Father Antonio Reyes officiating. Placing of the pall was by Jessie and Erika Mahoney. Music was by organist/soloist Jacqueline Allain. Readers were: Erin Kingston and Natalie Gallivan with the Prayers of the Faithful read by Tiffany Gallivan. The eulogy was given by Diane Donovan. Active Pallbearers were: Kirk Gallivan, Christopher Gallivan, Bryan Mahoney, Keith Kingston, Peter Kingston and David Donovan. Honorary Pallbearers were: Emily Matheson, Shirley Barry, Emily Walls, Lois & Wilson Sobey, Eleanor Sullivan, Gerald Burns and Brent Haining.
Burial followed in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In Lourdes memory a donation may be made to Miramichi Youth Home or the NB Extra Mural Program.
