Event Details - Miramichi Scottish Festival Old Fashioned Family P

Wilson's Point Historic Site is proud to be hosting the Miramichi Scottish Festival Old Fashioned Family Picnic once again this year. Come out to where it all began and enjoy!
This successful family event was added in 2019 and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets and spend the afternoon on the grounds where in every corner there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.
William Davidson, the Founding Father himself will be giving tours of his beloved settlement. The Healing Farm Petting Zoo and McKenna Entertainment Face Painting will be tuck away behind the St. James Church Replica Interpretive center for the young and young at heart to enjoy, while inside there will be a gorgeous quilt display from a local quilt guild and a guide to answer any questions about the history surrounding the site. Plein Air Artists from the Miramichi Art Core and beyond will be scattered through out the grounds capturing the essence of the hidden little gem on a variety of mediums that will be on display and for sale after 130pm inside the interpretive center.
Frantically Atlantic's Don Rigley and Michelle Daigle are back to entertain everyone with historical instruments and toe tapping music. The Big Cheese Food truck will be on site as well with the option of Haggis Burgers on the menu. Miramichi Accessible Transit will be shuttling picnic goers along the route from designated parking areas being tended to by volunteer members of the Miramichi Ground Search and Rescue. The Food Truck and Art Sale will be cash only all other vendors are free.
