Paul Robert Copp
March 31st 1946 – Sevogle, New Brunswick
March 12th 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
Paul Robert Copp passed away peacefully on March 12th 2019 at the age of 72 years.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, pompa, uncle, and friend, Paul Copp.
Paul was born on the banks of the mighty Miramichi river, the final child in a family of ten children.
There, he met Judith Hume whose family was stationed at the nearby army base.
They fell in love and were married on March 9th 1968.
Paul went to work in the computer industry shortly after they were married.
They spent many years moving all around the country as he worked to establish himself, before settling down in Calgary in 1978.
Paul excelled in computer sales and was continually recognized and awarded as the top in his field.
As a child born just after the end of the Second World War, veteran’s issues were near and dear to Paul’s heart.
He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and formed many lifelong friendships at the now closed 102 Branch Downtown, and at the 285 Branch on Horton Road.
He was a warm loving man who loved to spark up a conversation with anyone.
He loved golfing, sailing down the Miramichi River in his boat, and the Montreal Canadiens.
He was predeceased by his parents, all of his brothers, and his wife of forty-six years; Judith
He is survived by his children; Troy (Aime), Travis (Jamie), Tony (Kate) and Tami (Corey), seven grandchildren; Daniel, Hailey, Whitney, Braxton, Logan, Hannah, Jameslee, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a west coast Celebration of Life held at the Blackfoot Inn on March 30th, starting at 6:00 PM
There will also be an east coast Celebration of Life in Miramichi City on August 24th 2019, location details still to be decided.
All are welcome to attend while we celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make donations in Paul’s honor, please donate to your local Royal Canadian Legion Branch.
