One Peace Won’t Hurt – An Evening with Tareq Hadhad

Anglophone North School District is excited to announce that Tareq Hadhad, Founder & CEO of Peace by Chocolate, will be delivering an inspirational speech at James M. Hill Theatre on Saturday, January 28th. The event is co-sponsored by PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs and will feature a student marketplace from 6pm to 7pm that attendees can peruse before going into the theatre, followed by a presentation by Mr. Hadhad from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

For those not familiar with Tareq Hadhad, there is a feature length movie streaming on numerous platforms. It tells the story of his family’s journey from fleeing the war in Syria and losing everything, to building a shed in Antigonish which became their storefront for selling chocolate as a means of beginning their new life in Canada. After just few years, they now own a chocolate factory that employs hundreds of people in their community. Peace by Chocolate is renowned for giving back to local and national charities.

Tareq’s message of newcomer resilience, giving back to community, and “what can happen when people open their arms to offer kindness in another person’s time of need” is sure to resonate.
