February 4th - Wade Hallihan - Long Lost Leslie Allen
Join Wade in the search for Leslie Allen. Born in Toronto, he began manger of Eaton's in Moncton before going missing on a hunting trip along the Miramichi in October 1927. Hear the story of the hunting party, the weeks long search and the aftermath.


February 7th - Shawn McCarthy and Neil Wallace - Stranger Than The Sea's Embrace - 5 Beaubear's Island Built Ships
Hear Messrs. McCarthy & Wallace recount the stories of 5 ships built on the Island. Hear of their voyages, and learn about what became of them after they left the Miramichi.

February 11th - Brandon Savage - Following In The Footsteps Of The North Shore Regiment
Local history teacher Brandon Savage will recount his onsite and document research into the postings of the North Shore Regiment during peace and wartime. from England through to Germany. Come and hear details of one of Canada's most famous fighting units of World War II. our own North Shore soldiers.


February 14th - Henry Collins - Citizen Based Science On The Blessed Basin
The Miramichi River Environmental Assessment Committee (MREAC) has functioned as a community-based not-for-profit watershed organization since 1989. MREAC’s primary objective is environmental stewardship and management of the Miramichi watershed.

February 18th - Ken Walker - The Denys Family Of The Miramichi - 1647-1709
The domain of Nicholas Denys, governor of Acadia, extended along the southerly side of the Gulf of St Lawrence, from Miscou Island to Cape Breton. It included a trading post at Miramichi in the 1640s, but the first extensive French establishment on the river was that of Denys's son Richard Denys.

February 21st - Gérard Picot - The Bearers Of The Cross: The Writings Of Father Chrétien Le Clercq
Hear a discussion of the writings of Fr. Chrétien Le Clercq, a Recollect Franciscan friar and missionary to the Mi'gmaq in the mid-17th century. He was a chronicler of New France, who wrote two early histories.

February 25th - Frances Connell - The Shepherd Of The Woods - Father Benedict J. Murdoch
Fr. Benedict J. Murdoch wrote ten books, his first being The Red Vineyard (1923), a spiritual autobiography of his wartime experiences in the First World War. Autobiographical narration is used in Part Way Through (1946) and Far Away Place (1952). Most of the other works are fictional or spiritual and are less well known, but the demand for Alone With Thee, a book of religious readings, was such that several printings were required.

February 28th - Neil Wallace - Pirates: Fact And Fantasy
The Golden Age of Piracy is a common designation given to usually one or more outbursts of piracy in the maritime history of the early modern period. In its broadest accepted definition, it spans the 1650s to the late 1720s.
