Gilda Annie Smith
Gilda Annie Smith of Quispamsis, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, at the age of 90.
Gilda was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Flora (Dewitt) Smith.
Gilda had a long and successful career as a domestic engineer.
This job was for only a few weeks but because of her many skills as well as loyalty, respect and compassion it spanned over some 56 years with the Crocker family of Newcastle.
I believe it would be safe to say Gilda cared for 4 generations with this family.
Gilda loved cooking, gardening, hockey and baseball.
She was a true Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fan!
Gilda was a real lady, mild tempered, had a great sense of humour and quick smile for all.
She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Gilda was a devoted member of the Newcastle Legion, Branch #10 as well as a member of Saint James and Saint John United Church.
Gilda travelled extensively throughout Canada and the U.S., visiting every province except Newfoundland.
