Herman Ceril Furlong
1933 – 2019
Herman Ceril Furlong of Renous, NB, husband of the late Helena (Nash) Furlong, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, May 31st, 2019 at the age of 86.
Born in Renous, NB, Herman was the son of the late John and Bernetta (Theriault) Furlong.
Herman worked in forestry as a trail cutter.
He enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for horses.
Herman enjoyed attending local jam sessions and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Herman is survived by his two sons: Jason (Lindsay) of Chatham Head, NB, and Reginald (Tammy) of Renous, NB; four sisters: Margaret Walsh (Jim) of Miramichi, NB, Julie Gallant (Joe) of Fredericton, NB, Doreen Keane of Douglastown, NB, Gladys Diotte (Pat) of Miramichi, NB; one brother: Louis (Marion) of Renous, NB; five grandchildren: Bela, Amber, RJ, Caleb, Cassie; one special nephew: Clarence (Judy) Furlong of Renous, NB; one special niece: Bernetta Daigle (Lee) of Miramichi, NB and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, Herman is predeceased by his sisters: Bernetta, Stella, Kathleen, Elsie; brothers: Clarence, Gordon, Leo, Joe, Stanley, Benny
Visitation will be at Saint Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Renous, NB on Monday evening, June 3rd, 2019, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Renous, NB, on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019, at 1:00 PM with Father Dan Bastarache officiating.
Burial will follow in the Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Renous, NB.
As expressions of sympathy, in Herman’s memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
