Miramichi's Funeral Announcements Leona Gertrude (Coughlan) Sturgeon

Leona Gertrude (Coughlan) Sturgeon, wife of the late Sherman Sturgeon of Gray Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday August 12, 2019 at the age of 80.

Born in Barnettville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Marven and Ruby (Sturgeon) Coughlan. She was retired from Rocky Brook Fishing Lodge and Wades Fishing Lodge. A member of St Agnes Anglican Church and also a member of A.C.W.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Martin (Ron) of Baie Sainte Anne, NB, her sons; Jeff (Judy) of Hopewell Cape, NB, Armond (Pamela) of Miramichi, NB and Millar (Corinna) of Miramichi, NB her sisters; Mildred Sullivan (Austin) of Gray Rapids, NB and Linda Mullin (Perly) of Barnettville, NB, her brothers; Millar (Cecillia) of Barnettville, NB, Lionel of Barnettville, NB, Lanny (Cindy) of Barnettville, NB and Alden (Alyson) of Barnettville, NB; her daughter-in-law Wendy Sturgeon (Late Fenton) of Blackville, NB; her grandchildren, Mandy Sturgeon (Allain) of Hopewell Cape, NB, Shane Sturgeon (Kerry) of Hampton, NB, Christopher Sturgeon (Holly) of Blackville,NB, Matthew Sturgeon (Vanessa) of Blackville,NB, Josh Sturgeon (Julie) of Edmonton , Alberta and Janessa Hogan (Shawn) of Baie Ste Anne,NB, her great grandchildren; Kyleigh Miller of Hopewell Cape, NB, Caleb Sturgeon, Emily Sturgeon, Olivia Sturgeon and Tori Sturgeon of Blackville, Isabella Hogan and Aubrie Richard of Baie Ste Anne and Carter Sturgeon of Hampton, NB.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Fenton, brothers, Milton and Delbert and sisters, Dianne and Whilena

Leona Gertrude (Coughlan) Sturgeon is resting at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11am at Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Father Gerry Laskey officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of St Agnes Church Cemetery. Reception to follow at Saint Agnes Church Basement.

In her memory, donations to St Agnes Church or CNIB would be appreciated by the family.
