The family of Rose A. Matthews, wife of the late Rodney Matthews of Miramichi, wish to announce her “Home Going” early Sunday morning, March 8, 2020. She passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 78. Rose was confident of her healing on either this side of eternity or on the other side- and her faith in Christ stayed strong until she met Jesus face to face.
Born in Chatham, NB, on August 27, 1941, Rose was the only daughter of Leonard Comeau and Marjorie Dickson Comeau. She was a retired homemaker and babysitter, and an active and very proud member of The Point Church.
She is survived by her three children and two grandchildren- her oldest son Ken of Miramichi, her daughter Karen (Mark Kerr) of Ottawa, and her youngest son, Kevin (Debbilea) of Miramichi. Her two grandchildren are Kohl (Miramichi) and Kinnon (Ottawa). She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Rose A. Matthews is resting at The Point Church, 582 King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Monday, March 9, 2020, from 2:00-3:30. Her funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Monday afternoon, 4:00 PM at The Point Church, 582 King George Hwy, Miramichi, with Rev. Kevin J Matthews officiating, assisted by Pastor Geoff McLean and Pastor Kurt Parks. Burial will be in the Spring.
In her memory, donations to The Point Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
