It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Comeau, 56 years young, who passed away peacefully June 25th 2020, at his residence in new Maryland NB.
Born in Chatham NB, May 27th 1964, he was the son of Eric and Anne Comeau of Miramichi NB. Darrell is survived by his parents, his son Ryan (Melanie) of Halifax NS, daughter Alysia (Brandon) of Geary NB, his companion Carrol Long, and Rose Patstone (mother of his son and daughter); his sister, Linda (Alistair) of Clairemont Ontario, his brother Stephen of Miramichi NB, his Mother in Law, Mary Lavoie with whom he had many laughs and really enjoyed her company; his nephew Alex Comeau, his Godmother Carmel Gallimore, and his best furry friend Bailey.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Emile and Yvonne Comeau, his Uncle Bliss, Aunt Jeannie, Father in law Lionel Lavoie, and his Maternal grandparents, Alfred and Eugenie.
Darrell graduated from James M Hill High School, Miramichi NB. He furthered his education by going to Community college and graduating from small engine repair. Later he moved on to Community college in Saint john, where he graduated from Mechanical Engineering. Darrell worked with his Dad at Tech Sea at the Chatham Marina for many years, Neill and Gunter in Fredericton, and was presently employed for Stantec Consulting as Senior Technologist in Fredericton NB.
Darrell enjoyed music, and was also a disc jockey withhis good friend Michael Brideau for many years. He really enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was camping, boating, or skidoing, and spending alpot of time at his cottage in Grand Lake NB, with the Lavoie family. He really enjoyed their company. He loved to sit back, relax, and have a ggod drink or two of good old Crowne Royal. He was mechanically inclined, and put his hands on anything to make it mobile. He would also offer to lend a hand to everyone in need.
Visitation will be at Bishop’s Funeral Home, Fredericton NB, Tuesday June 30th 2-4pm, and 7-9pm, and Wednesday July 1st, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday July 3rd at 2:00pm from Saint Micael’s Basilica with Father John Keoughan officiating. Internment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
