It is with deep sadness, we wish to announce the death of John “Jack” Louis Murdock, which occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday September 17 2020, at the age of 78.
He was born in Loggieville, NB on November 3, 1941. He was the son of Myrtle (Knowles) and the late Alvin Murdock.
Jack worked with his father and JD Loggie peddling apples and fresh vegetables in his younger years. Then his path changed and he became a commercial Fisherman. He certainly enjoyed having a drink or two, loved playing crib (and winning), hunting and being in the outdoors with family and friends.
Besides his mother Jack is survived by his wife Rhoda (Ramsay), son John Todd (Elaine), daughter Jacqueline (Jason); Grandchildren: Alexander, Nathaniel, John Dylan, Cole, Ashleigh, Aidan and Tanner. Two brothers: William of Miramichi, David (Patsy) of Miramichi, and four sisters: Helen Jones (Mark) of Calgary Alberta; Eileen Richardson (the late Ray) of Miramichi; Velma Williston (Harry)of Bay du Vin, and Catherine Williston (David) of Bay Du Vin, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Ray Richardson, nieces Gail Kingston and Margie Richardson.
At Jack’s request there will be no visitation or Funeral Services.
As expressions of sympathy, in Jack’s memory, donations can be made to the Miramichi Food bank and soup kitchen.
