Edward “Eddie” Frances Russell husband of the late Melvina (Savoy) Russell of Losier Hall and formerly of Chatham Head, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the age of 94. Born in Chatham Head, NB, on December 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Ann (Murray) Russell.
Eddie worked at Burchill’s Mill and then on to the former Repap Mill until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to garden at Baldwin Farms, Douglasfield, he also loved a good game of crib.
Eddie is survived by: five daughters: Ellen (Roy) Dickison of Shediac, NB; Gail Russell of Miramichi, NB; Celine (Wayne) Fraser of Pointe du Chene, NB; Darlene Russell and Tracy (Larry) all of Miramichi, NB; two sons: Melbourne (Catherine) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Thomas (Carmel) of Nelson, NB; 12 grandchildren: Melanie, Leah, Kelsey, Dane, Kiley, Devon, Mandy, Josh, Walter, Shane, David and Lindsay; 16 great grandchildren and one sister: Alma Savoy.
Besides his parents and wife: Eddie is predeceased by: two sons: Edward Jr. and Owen; two granddaughters: Megan and Rebecca; brother: Norman and sister: Melvina
There will be no visitation, Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 13, 2021 with Father John Keoughan. Interment will take place in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
