At the Miramichi Regional Hospital on February 21, 2021 in the presence of her family, Lena Edith (Murray) Brace went home to be at rest with her Lord and Saviour.
Lena was born in Newcastle, N.B on May 25, 1927, the only child to the late Bruce and Edith (Loggie) Murray. She attended School in Ferry Road Community School and later attended Chatham Grammar School graduating in 1944. Following graduation, she attended Provincial Normal School in Fredericton graduating in 1945. She began her teaching career at Moorfield School in the Fall of 1945. The following year she moved to Hillsboro N.B, where she met and married the love of her life, Harry in 1951. They remained in Hillsboro until August of 1952 when they moved back to Ferry Road and resumed her teaching career at Harkins High School and Junior Hugh School, retiring in 1982. Teaching was her passion and math, her favorite subject.
Lena was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord in various capacities of the Church life. An ardent animal lover, she performed many duties while living on the family farm in Ferry Road.
She is survived by her daughter Marina (Philip) of Miramichi; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Lena was predeceased by her parents and her husband Harry.
Lena Edith (Murray) Brace is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday at 3:00 with Pastor Chad Rozelle officiating.
