It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence “Laurie” Douglas Nowlan of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the age of 71. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Lorne and Ethel (MacKay) Nowlan. He was the baby of 6 children.
Laurie is survived by daughters: Michelle Nowlan (Greg Cluff) of Northampton, NB; Amy Nowlan of Strathroy, ON; sons: Jerod Nowlan (Martina) of Woodstock, NB; Sean Nowlan (Annette) of Woodstock, NB; sister: Linda McAllister (Ken) of Grand Lake, NB; former wife and close friend: Julia Nowlan; beloved granddad to: Alex, Allyson and Anna, Rowan, Grayson, Calia, Jayde and Julia, as well as several special nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Laurie is predeceased by brothers: Ossie, Billy, and Edward Nowlan and sister: Doris Brown.
Laurie spent his life living it to the fullest. He loved travelling, boating, golfing, playing cards and wheeling and dealing as a car salesman.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 4-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11 AM with Pastor Kevin Matthews officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Stephen’s United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB at a later date.
